Help?

I can't decide whether I should choose to read one of the many intriguing Kurt Vonnegut novels or "Looking for Alaska" by John Green first? I have a huge interest in Kurt Vonnegut simply because his technique, characterization and depth draws me in immediately. With all of his books that is. As for the John Green book, I've been hearing a lot of great reviews on the book, but I don't know much about it myself. I'm willing to expose myself to new literature though to get some variety. Although with these great options, I may be considering reading something by Stephen King. His skin-crawling stories are always up high on my list of favorites. I'll be looking around and hopefully deciding soon. Suggestions?
